How Kite You Up started
Kite You Up didn't start with a business plan. It started with a kite lesson.
Lý was Fred's kite instructor in Mui Ne. What began with lessons on the water soon turned into sessions together, long conversations, beers after the wind dropped — and another shared passion: playing guitar.
Over time, instructor and student became friends.
One day, the idea felt obvious: why not build something together around the place, the sport and the lifestyle that brought them together?
Not the biggest kite school. Just a place with a soul, built around friendship and a shared passion for kitesurfing.
That's how Kite You Up was born.
BORN ON THIS BEACH
Lý was born in Ham Tien, just a few hundred metres from where he teaches today. As a teenager, he watched the first kitesurfers arrive on a beach that was still mostly fishing boats and guesthouses.
He started as a beach boy, pumping kites and helping riders. Nearly twenty years later, after thousands of hours on the water, Mui Ne has become both his playground and his classroom.
Today, Lý teaches the way he learned: with patience, experience and a deep understanding of the wind, the sea and this beach.

ONE PASSION
Kite You Up was born from a simple idea: share the sport we love, the way we love it.
No factory-style lessons. No rushing people in and out. We keep things personal, focus on safety and progression, and adapt every session to the person in front of us.
For us, kitesurfing is more than learning to ride. It's about the wind, the ocean, the freedom — and the people you meet along the way.
We want you to discover the real Mui Ne, enjoy every step of the journey, and hopefully leave with more than just a new skill.
