Getting to Mui Ne
Flying in
Fly into Ho Chi Minh City (SGN). Mui Ne / Phan Thiet is roughly 2.5 to 3 hours away by road, on the coast to the north-east.
Sleeper bus
The cheap and very common option. Sleeper buses leave Ho Chi Minh City through the day and drop you along Nguyen Dinh Chieu in Ham Tien, usually close to your hotel.
Private car
Door to door, roughly 4 hours, worth it if you land late or travel with a board bag. Ask your hotel to arrange it.
Train
There is also a train to Phan Thiet, then a 25-minute taxi to Ham Tien. Slower but scenic.
When to come
November to April for kitesurfing, with December till March the most reliable. From May to October the monsoon switches and the wind becomes less strong but still can kite according to the weather conditions !
Where to stay
Ham Tien, along Nguyen Dinh Chieu, puts you within walking distance of the beach and of us. Everything from $15 guesthouses to beach resorts sits along the same road. We don't book accommodation — but tell us where you're staying and we'll tell you how far you'll be walking. Lý can also come directly to your hotel for a private kitesurf lesson, provided the beach, wind and safety conditions are suitable. Just send us your hotel location and we'll let you know if a lesson there is possible.

Tell him your dates and your level — he'll tell you honestly what's realistic.
